Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Management System (NMS) Engineer to design, implement, and manage a cutting-edge network monitoring platform from the ground up. This role involves deploying enterprise-grade NMS solutions, automating workflows, and ensuring optimal network performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with NMS tools, SNMP protocols, and scripting, with a proven ability to lead initiatives independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Design, implement, and maintain a robust NMS platform tailored to monitor complex enterprise network environments.
• Tool Integration: Install, configure, and integrate advanced NMS tools such as LibreNMS, OpenNMS, or equivalent platforms.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop custom scripts and automation workflows using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to optimize network management tasks.
• SNMP Management: Analyze SNMP MIBs, streamline polling and trap handling, and optimize data collection for actionable insights.
• Issue Resolution: Provide technical support for NMS-related issues, ensuring timely troubleshooting and resolution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with network, security, and IT operations teams to ensure seamless monitoring, integration, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-grade NMS solutions.
• Technical Expertise:
• • Advanced knowledge of NMS platforms like LibreNMS, OpenNMS, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of SNMP protocols, MIBs, polling, and trap management.
• Platform Design: Proven ability to build monitoring platforms from scratch, including data modelling and visualization.
• Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proactive approach to cross-functional teamwork.
• Experience with modern data visualization tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with network security best practices in monitoring environments.
